WORLD WIND ENERGY NET

Altamont Pass is the second biggest generator of wind energy in California and runs 4,788 turbines - enough power to supply 160,000 homes. Three of California's wind-energy farms (Altamont, Tehachapi and San Gorgonio) account for approximately 11 percent of the world's wind-generated electricity. The US, however, still ranks 3rd behind Germany and Spain in windpower capacity.
