Newtown, Mass.-based UPC Wind, a wind farm developer and owner, has appointed Patrick J. Caramante vice president of strategy and planning, where he will be responsible for technical aspects of the company's upcoming project financing.

Caramante joins UPC Wind as a continuation of his 27-year career in the electrical generation industry. He has been involved in all aspects of the industry, including construction, operation, management and finance.

"Pat brings solid experience in obtaining financial backing for wind projects, which is crucial to maintaining the momentum in the siting and construction of renewable projects," says Paul Gaynor, UPC Wind's president and chief executive officer.
