Description:
Immediate Manager: Service Director
Purposes of the position (Role):
Reporting to the Service Director, the Area Service Manager will be overall responsible for the execution of wind turbine services contracts under the China Hub.
The Area Service Manager will lead the team allocated to the service and shall professionally ensure liaison and agreement with the Customers, sub-contractors, suppliers, service teams, authorities, other third parties and Vestas policy and strategy.
The Area Service Manager shall ensure the completion of the service contract within the time scheduled and the budget.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Providing management, support and leadership to the service team
· Providing timely reporting to the Customers and internally in Vestas.
· Providing sub-contractor management
· Ensuring HSEQ compliance within the service package
· In association with the Service Controller manage the service payments from the Customers and to the sub-contractors ensuring proper inter-alignment
· Securing the service budget
· Ensuring proper risk management during the course of the service
· Leading the negotiations of major sub-contracts.
· Coordinating with other departments to solve any product/Service related issues
· Compiling Market information (MIS) in consultation from customers/ Service engineers at site on a monthly basis for market/techs. Awareness within the company
Fiscal Responsibility:
· Within the framework of the approved budget in general.
Qualification required: (education, training, license, skills, etc.)
· University graduate (preferably in relevant engineering discipline)
· Current resident in Beijing (or willing to move to Beijing)
· Interested in working in a multi-national working environment
· Experienced of using English as the primary working language (spoken and written)
· Willing to travel approx 60 days a year.
· Eligible to obtain travel visas as required.
· Experienced user of Microsoft Office Programs
· Service minded, flexible and has a high stress threshold
The ideal Candidate will have:
· A minimum of 10 years working experience in an internationally oriented companies specialising in the planning and execution of complex services
· Service Management or Project Management experience
· Wind Turbine experience
· Negotiation and contracting experience
· Commercial experience
· Claim Management experience
· In depth knowledge about contracting practices preferable the Chinese
· In depth knowledge about dispute resolution practices for construction and supply disputes preferable the Chinese.
